Indiana Child Support Calculator
Planning estimate for Indiana child support using a generic gross-income heuristic. Does not implement the state guideline or determine a court order.
Estimate only — these are not official figures
The proxy combines entered annual gross income, adds care and insurance to a percentage budget, and assigns the lower-overnight parent a share based on gross income. Indiana uses weekly guideline calculations and a parenting-time credit that this proxy omits. This tool does not implement the state guideline; none is an official guideline amount.
Do not rely on these amounts for budgeting or payment. For exact amounts, check the Indiana Rules of Court, Child Support Rules and Guidelines: https://rules.incourts.gov/Content/child-support/default.htm.

How This Calculator Works
Calculation methodology and assumptions
The proxy combines entered annual gross income, adds care and insurance to a percentage budget, and assigns the lower-overnight parent a share based on gross income. Indiana uses weekly guideline calculations and a parenting-time credit that this proxy omits. This tool does not implement the state guideline; none is an official guideline amount.
Key State Information
Income Shares guideline context: Indiana provides a weekly support schedule, a Child Support Obligation Worksheet and a separate Parenting Time Credit Worksheet. The guidelines organize the work in stages: determine weekly gross income, verify income, compute adjusted income and look up the basic obligation. They then address additions and adjustments, including the cost of coverage for the children. The court’s materials also provide a post-secondary education worksheet. A household with parenting time to account for should consult the separate credit worksheet alongside the main obligation worksheet. Its guideline lists adjustments for child care, insurance and parenting time. This site does not complete those worksheets.
Example Calculation
A weekly worksheet versus an annual-input proxy
For one child, annual incomes of $60,000 and $36,000, 220 nights with Parent 1, $2,400 care and $1,200 insurance, Parent 2’s proxy is $622.50 a month.
Result: Two children, incomes of $50,000 and $30,000, 160 nights, $6,000 care and $1,800 insurance produce $1,322.92 monthly for Parent 1. The Indiana credit is not applied.
