Missouri Unemployment Benefits Calculator
Estimate your Missouri unemployment benefits. Max weekly: $320. Max weeks: 20. Free calculator.
Estimate only — these are not official figures
The weekly benefit applies Missouri's exact statutory formula, cited in the methodology and sources, so it matches the law when the wages you enter are accurate. The page is still labeled an estimate because its monthly figure (the weekly amount times 4.33) is not an amount the state pays and only the state agency can decide whether you qualify. The maximum weekly benefit ($320) and duration (20 weeks) come from published sources.
Do not rely on these amounts for budgeting or payment. For exact amounts, check the Missouri state unemployment insurance agency (file there and use its official benefits estimator for your actual Weekly Benefit Amount determination).

How This Calculator Works
Calculation methodology and assumptions
Missouri averages your two highest-paid base-period quarters and pays 4 percent of that average each week, lowered to a whole dollar, with a statutory ceiling of $320 for claims filed since 2008 (RSMo §288.038). The U.S. Department of Labor's January 2026 summary lists $35 as the lowest weekly amount; this calculator treats a smaller result as no benefit. The same summary gives Missouri's claim limit as the lesser of one-third of base-period wages or 20 times the weekly amount, which is what the totals here use. The Revisor of Statutes marks the 2015 version of §288.060, which would have shortened claims to 13-20 weeks by the state unemployment rate, as declared unconstitutional (Pestka v. State, 2016), so no rate-based scale is applied. No allowance is paid for dependents, and the qualifying tests (wages in two quarters, base-period pay of 1.5 times the high quarter) are not checked.
Key State Information
Missouri's $320 weekly cap is a dollar figure in the statute for claims filed since 2008, not indexed to wages. Because it uses a two-quarter average, one strong quarter is diluted by a weaker one: $9,000 across the two best quarters and $10,500 for the year pays $180 a week, and the one-third-of-wages limit holds the claim to $3,500.
Example Calculation
Let's review the inputs that set unemployment benefits in Missouri.
Missouri uses its own benefit formula from state law rather than a general 50%-of-wage estimate. Enter the exact quarter/base-period wage and eligibility fields requested by the calculator; the required inputs differ by state and cannot be reconstructed safely from median household income.
Result: Published maximum weekly amount: $320. Current maximum duration: 20 weeks. These are ceilings, not a typical award; the calculator above applies Missouri's source-backed formula to your own wage history, and only the state agency determines eligibility.

Our editorial standardsFrequently Asked Questions
How much will I get from Missouri unemployment?
4% of your two-best-quarter average. If those quarters paid $14,000 together, the average is $7,000 and the weekly amount is $280; $16,000 or more together reaches the $320 cap (RSMo §288.038).
How long can I collect unemployment in Missouri?
Up to 20 weeks, limited to one-third of base-period pay. $26,000 of base-period pay at $280 a week allows $5,600, about 20 weeks.
Does Missouri pay a dependent allowance?
No. Children or a non-working spouse do not change the Missouri weekly amount.
